About NTU Pro-Ams Debating Championship 2009 NTU Debating Society is proud to host the NTU Inter Tertiary Pro-Ams Debating Championship 2009. The Pro-Ams, in its 3rd edition this year, is a debating tournament held to encourage new debaters, and give them exposure to the world of debating. This tournament gives novice debaters and adjudicators a platform to familiarize themselves with the British Parliamentary style of debating, under the guidance of experienced debaters. The World Universities Debating Championship (WUDC) is also held in the British Parliamentary style. While allowing the novices to develop and refine their debating skills, it also provides experienced debaters an opportunity to brush up their skills. The 2009 edition of the championship will be held on the 12th and 13th of September 2009. We look forward to organizing an event that will garner an active interest in debating among the student population of Singapore and the neighbouring region. Pro-Ams would be one of the first debating tournaments in the region in the new academic year. Sudipto Shome |
